Jay
Barber, President
Jay graduated
from East Carolina University with dual majors in political science
and history and is the President of Heron Bay Group. He has over 26
years of experience in sales and marketing, beginning at Control Data
Corporation and continuing through his retirement from Metro Information
Services. He has served in numerous positions, including Marketing
Representative, Marketing Manager, Area Sales Manager, Marketing Director,
and Division and Managing Director. During this time he was involved
in three successful start-up ventures in Orlando, Tampa and South
Florida/Puerto Rico.
Working
first with Control Data Corporation and then with Logica, Jay developed
extensive sales and result-orient management skills. As the National
Director of Sales and Area Sales Manager for Logica, he increased
the project and consulting revenues over 500%. While with Metro Information
Services, Jay established the new South Florida division, including
an international division in the Caribbean. Under his direction, the
South Florida and Caribbean/Latin America operations achieved profitability
within a year of opening. During his twelve-year tenure at Metro,
sales increased to over $18M and an overall staff of 135. In 1997,
he shepherded the South Florida Division through Metro's transition
from a private to publicly traded company.
In 1999,
Jay retired from Metro Information Services to form Heron Bay Group.
Building on his extensive personal experience in sales, marketing
and negotiating, he has developed and continues to market Project
Management Institute certified workshops, serve as national coach
for Solution Selling and provide consulting services.
Jay
has instructed at several national sales schools for IBM, Control
Data and Metro Information Services . Jay has attended many sales
seminars and schools including: Solution Selling, IBM sales school,
and OZ Enterprises " Sales with Passion and Focus" to name
a few. Jay is a National coach for Solution Selling.
Thom
Cassidy, CFO
Thom
is a CPA and Licensed Real Estate Broker. A graduate from Vanderbilt
University, Thom received his MBA from VPI. He has extensive background
in finance, particularly taxes, and has assisted numerous start up
companies including The Heron Bay Group. Thom has a unique blend of
finance and real estate background, which has been extremely valuable
to our clients. Thom has held many positions including controller
and CFO in the companies he has served. Thom provided valuable assistance
in the development of the Effective Communications workshop and also
serves as an instructor.
